Who this covers

This policy describes Personal Statement Checker at https://personalstatementchecker.com. It covers the free rule check, accounts, and revision notes. We do not sell personal information.

The free check

If you are not signed in, the statement you paste is used to produce the rule-check report and is not written to our database. A copy can remain in your browser's session storage so the box is still filled if you refresh this tab. Clearing the site data in your browser removes it. The free check does not send the draft to a language model.

Accounts and saved drafts

If you sign in, we store the account details the sign-in provider gives us, usually your name, email address and profile image. Google or GitHub sign-in is handled by that provider. We also store, against your account:

• rule checks you run while signed in, and their reports
• revision notes, including the draft they were written on
• how many notes you have left, and when a purchased pack expires

You can delete a saved check or a saved note from your dashboard. Deleting your account removes the account. Orders are kept as payment records with the personal link removed.

Revision notes and the model

When you ask for a revision note, the draft is sent to our language-model provider so it can write that note. We do not use your statement to train a model of our own. A failed response is not stored as a charged note. The same text within 24 hours returns the saved note and is not sent again as a new charge.

Payments

Card payments are taken by Stripe. We receive a record of the order, such as the amount, the time and a provider reference. We do not store your full card number.

Cookies

A session cookie keeps you signed in. It is required for an account and for revision notes. The free check works without it. You can block cookies in your browser; sign-in will then fail.

How long we keep it

Saved checks and notes stay until you delete them or delete the account. A purchased pack's unused notes expire 180 days after that purchase. Payment records are kept for as long as we need them for tax and fraud checks.

Your requests

You can ask for a copy of the account data we hold, a correction, or deletion. Email hello@personalstatementchecker.com from the address on the account. These rights sit alongside the rights you already have under the law that applies to you. The service is for university applicants. It is not aimed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. The version on this page is the one that applies.
