What this site is

Personal Statement Checker is an independent preparation tool. It is not UCAS, it is not a university, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by either. The current application form and the programme's own instructions decide what you must submit.

By using the site you agree to these terms. The privacy policy and refund policy are part of them.

The two checks

The rule check is free, needs no account, and has no limit. It flags clichés, a fixed list of empty self-praise, repeated sentences and length. It does not read the argument, and it does not call a model.

Revision notes are separate. They quote your draft and suggest an edit. They do not write a replacement statement, they do not invent facts, and they do not score the draft or predict an offer. One note is included with a new account. Further notes are sold only as a one-time pack: $9.99 for 10 notes, usable within 180 days of that payment. Buying again adds another 10 notes, with their own 180 days from that later payment. It does not extend an earlier pack. There is no monthly subscription.

Your draft

You keep the copyright in your statement. You confirm that the experiences in it are yours, or that you have the right to write about them. You allow us to process the text only to run the check you asked for, to save it to your account when you are signed in, and, for a revision note, to send it to the language-model provider that writes that note.

We do not submit your statement to a university. A note is advice on a draft, not an application, and not a guarantee of an offer or a rejection.

Accounts and payment

You are responsible for activity under your account. Card payments are taken by Stripe. We do not store your full card number. A failed model response is not charged. The same text within 24 hours uses the saved note and is not charged again.

Prices shown at checkout are in US dollars. Refunds follow the refund policy. Rights you have under the law that applies to you are not reduced by these terms.

Acceptable use

Do not use the site to:

• break the law, or infringe someone else's rights
• try to access another person's account or our systems
• present invented experience as your own in an application
• resell the notes or the checker as your own product

Availability

The site is provided as available. A model can be offline. When revision notes are offline, the free check still runs and nothing is charged. We may change or withdraw a feature. A change does not delete notes you have already been given.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including a rejected application, that follows from using a check or a note. Nothing here excludes liability that the law does not allow us to exclude.
